Another benefit for the BRTS will be saving manpower at each of the BRTS stations. “Till now, we had two people for issuing tickets and two people near the gate to check the tickets of outgoing passengers. With this new system, only person will be required at each BRTS station,” said an official of BRTS. The passengers need to just show their smart card in front of the recogniser which will beep and will deduct the amount travelled and will immediately open the gate for the passenger to enter the bus corridor. This will be more effective way and will in rapid transport, which will be apt to its name.

But, passengers will need to wait for a month or two more as the system is still on trial and will take time to check how it works, officials added.
