Six killed in Bihar road accident

Six people were killed when a jeep and truck collided head on Thakurganj-Bahadurganj highway in Kishanganj district here in the early hours today.

Superintendent of police Chaurasia Chandrasekhar Azad told reporters here the accident occured when the speeding truck collided head on with a jeep carrying passengers near Megalpul bridge.
      
While four persons died on the spot, two succumbed to their injuries at the hospital, he said.
      
Five among the dead belong to Pathmari village of the district, while another belong to neighbouring West Bengal, he said adding that locals blocked the highway for several hours to protest against speeding of trucks in the area.
