Sharpshooter in custody of Vadodara police

The Vadodara police took custody of Omprakash from the Rajasthan police and reached Vadodara on Tuesday. Omprakash, alias Omi, the sharpshooter of noted criminal Mukesh Harjani was arrested by Rajasthan police from a hotel at Rajnagar on Friday.

The police has initiated primary investigations and will produce the accused before the court for remand on Wednesday.

The Rajasthan police had arrested Omprakash and also recovered a pistol and a 09mm bullet from him. He was absconding after the firing incident on Harish Jagyasi on May 10, 2009.

Talking to DNA, the police officials said that, the process of primary interrogations have already been initiated. Omprakash is a resident of Warasia area at Vadodara and was regarded as a key man of Mukesh Harjani. The arrest of Omprakash will also prove to be an important clue for murder cases of Pappu Sharma and Alpesh Chako at Anand.
