Senior National Conference leader and member of Jammu and Kashmir assembly Shameema Firdous today assumed the charge of chairperson of women's commission in the state.

Immediately after taking over the charge, she convened a meeting of officers of the commission and sought their help in mitigating the problems being faced by women of the state.

Firdous said she will try her best to come to the expectation of the people and will discharge the responsibilities with honesty.
