Hyderabad: Seven persons, including a three-year-old kid, were killed and five others seriously injured in a road accident in Andhra Pradesh's Kurnool district today, police said.

The mishap occurred when the auto in which they were travelling collided head-on with a milk tanker on National Highway-7 near Jagadharti village, they said.

Five of the passengers were killed on the spot, while two others died while undergoing treatment at a hospital, they said.

"The deceased seem to be labourers though their identity was yet to be established. The auto-driver was also killed in the mishap," a police officer told PTI over phone.

The injured were rushed to a local hospital in Kurnool and further investigation were on, police added.
