Seek Iran-like revolution in J&K: Hurriyat leader Abbas Ansari

Ansari, a prominent Shia cleric who is also the chief patron of Ithad-ul-Muslimeen (IuM), kicked off a formal campaign for his goal from Magam-Beerwa in central Kashmir where he addressed a large gathering of people.

Cries for repeating Khomeini-led Iranian type Islamic revolution in Kashmir are becoming shriller in the troubled paradise. Leading the charge is the co-founder of Hurriyat and its former chairman Moulana Mohammad Abbas Ansari, who openly supported the struggle based on Islamic principles to severe Kashmir from India.

Ansari, a prominent Shia cleric who is also the chief patron of Ithad-ul-Muslimeen (IuM), kicked off a formal campaign for his goal from Magam-Beerwa in central Kashmir where he addressed a large gathering of people.

“Unless our (separatist) struggle is modelled on Iranian revolution based on the Islamic principles, we will continue to reel under confusion and chaos”, said Ansari.

The highlight of the gathering was that it was addressed by several imams of the mosques who openly favored the radical Iranian type revolution much to the discomfort of the government. 

Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini became the supreme leader of Iran after he successfully led a revolution in 1979 tat overthrew the pro-west Shah Mohammad Reza Pahlavi. Iran later become an Islamic state with purdah system for women.
