The evening before the last night at Saptak began rather late, perhaps indicating that as the musical event for 2012 is coming to an end, the organisers should cater to increasing demands of the audience.

The evening started with Ustad Shaukat Hussain Khan who gave a vocal rendition of raag anandi and was accompanied by Hemant Joshi on the tabla, Rajesh Gandharva on harmonium and Ikram Khan on sarangi. Ustad Khan presented two bandisheys of raag anandi and raag kedar.

Then came Pt Sapan Chaudhari who gave a performance on the tabla. Accompanying him was Shishirchandra Bhatt on the harmonium. Pt Chaudhari presented teen taal with madhaya lai and then presented Lucknow gharana's taals with gayika and an old bandish.

Pt Chaudhari said, "It is so nice to be back in Ahmedabad after long as this city is my second home. In the 1970s, almost every month, I was in Ahmedabad. I miss Saptak founder late Pt Nandan Mehta but I know for sure that he is among us." The twelfth night came to an end with a stellar vocal rendition by Shubha Mudgal who was accompanied by Anish Pradhan on the tabla and Sudhir Nayak on the harmonium.
