The Opposition benches have decided to corner the Goa government on the police lethargy in handling Russian girl's rape case and various other law and order related issues in the state.

Leader of Opposition Manohar Parrikar told PTI that government will be exposed on Russian rape case investigation. "The investigation, which they are doing, is basically going to spoil the name of the state," he said.

Parrikar said that initially it was a British later German and now a Russian rape case.

"Two rape cases a year is enough to bring bad repute to the state," the former chief minister commented.

The four day long Goa legislative assembly session begins on December 15.

Referring to the case of inspector general of police K D Singh's son, Siddharth using his father's official car without authority and ramming it against the pole, Parrikar said that it indicates deterioration of moral values.

"The deterioration at political level is reflecting into bureaucratic level," he said.

The BJP said that the IGP should have been sent on forced leave, till inquiry into the incident is completed. Parrikar said that the opposition will raise various issues during the four day session.

"I have seen that there is no much business before the assembly this time. This indicates that government is not function,," he added.
