Russian held for overstaying in Manali for 15 years

A Russian national, allegedly staying in Manali for over 15 years without any valid documents, visa or passport was today arrested.

Pomerantsev Kirilon was staying with his Italian friend Galeno Orazie, who was arrested by the police in November last year for overstaying without a valid visa.

SP (Kullu) Abhishek Dular said Pomerantsev Kirilon had fled from Malana after the arrest of Orazie.

Kirilon had reached Delhi to leave for Russia.

He was, however, sent back to the Foreigners' Registration Office (FRO) for not possessing any valid documents.

On reaching Kullu, the Russian, instead of approaching FRO, sneaked into Malana village through Chanderkhani forests, Dular said.
