Rs45.48 lakh to strengthen anti human traffiking units in Tamil Nadu

The ministry of home affairs has alloted Rs45.48 lakh to Tamil Nadu Police to strengthen the Anti-Human Trafficking units, CB-CID ADGP Archana Ramasundaram said.

The ministry of home affairs has alloted Rs45.48 lakh to Tamil Nadu Police to strengthen the Anti-Human Trafficking units, CB-CID ADGP Archana Ramasundaram said here today.
 
"To strengthen Anti-Human Traffickings units in Tamil Nadu, Rs45.48 lakh has been alloted as Grant-in-Aid under modernisation of state police forces by the ministry of home affairs to Tamil Nadu government", she said in a statement.
 
Currently there are about 38 units in the state, she said adding the funds would be used for procuring office space and other logistics for additional six units.
 
"I am sure this will go a long way in our drive against the menace of human trafficking", she said.
 
On the recent DGPs Conference at Hyderabad,she said various sensitive issues and some problems faced by police, including terrorism, extremism, cyber crime, coastal security, human trafficking were discussed. "Several recomendations emerged during the one-day conference", she said.

Besides Tamil Nadu DGP Letika Saran, Shankar Jiwal, IPS and IGP (internal security, MN Manjunatha IPS, IGP (crime) attended in the conference, she added.
