Rs400 to Ganga Action Committee for making Ganga pollution free

Uttarakhand government has assigned Rs400 crore to Ganga Action Committee for cleaning up the river and making it pollution free, the state Assembly was informed today.
    
Parliamentary affairs minister Prakash Pant said seven sewage nallas in Haridwar and four in Rishikesh have already been treated.
    
Effluents of all the 18 nallahs coming under Haridwar Kumbh mela area are also being taken to a treatment plan through sewage lines, he said.
    
Pant said the examination of samples of Ganga water by state pollution control board has found that the water at Bhimgoda barrage, Har-Ki-Pauri and Daksh temple is drinkable after treatment.
