Rs1 crore withdrawn from SBI accounts on forged document in UP

After receiving complaints from customers, their accounts were checked and withdrawl of over Rs1 crore has been detected so far, bank manager RS Verma said.

Withdrawal of over Rs1 crore on forged documents have been detected from different accounts of customers of State Bank of India, Mandi branch, in Mainpuri (Uttar Pradesh), officials said today.

After receiving complaints from customers, their accounts were checked and withdrawl of over Rs1 crore has been detected so far, bank manager RS Verma said.

In the incident, the name of bank cashier has surfaced, who is on leave, they said.

Verma said that he had apprised higher authorities about the incident and action would be taken after proper checking of all the accounts.
