If you want to know what Venetian architecture and sculpture look like, you must visit the property show that will be held near Thaltej crossroads on SG Highway from September 30 and October 2. The theme of the property show, which is being organised by the Gujarat Institute of Housing and Estate Developers (GIHED), will be Venetian architecture and sculpture.

More than 500 properties will be exhibited under one roof at the GIHED show, a majority of which will be 2-3 BHK apartments priced in the range of Rs35 lakh to over Rs1 crore. Some of the 78 developers who will be displaying their properties at the show, have already taken the initiative of printing the carpet area and the built-up area of the property on brochures, said Suresh Patel, president of GIHED.

For the Venetian theme chosen for the show this year, a street of the Roman area will be created. European music will play during the exhibition to give visitors a unique experience, said Patel.

When asked about the impact of the hike in interest rates on property buyers, Patel said that people will prefer to pay a little more interest now instead of paying more for similar property at a later date. Property rates have been going up at the rate of around 24% per annum, he said.

He also said that he expected good investment from non-resident Gujaratis based in the US as Navratri and Diwali were round the corner. When asked about the affordability of property in Ahmedabad, he said that rates are on the lower side here compared to other cities such as Pune. Moreover, if the government increases FSI to three, the rates can come down by 15%, Patel said.

The property show will also have an art gallery where 12 leading painters will give live demonstrations of their art. The art work created by them at the show will be auctioned and the money raised will be used for the welfare of construction workers, said Patel.
