Road blockade after girl's death

Angry family members of an eight-year-old girl who died in a nursing home here blocked the Tamluk highway connecting Kolkata with Haldia and Kharagpur for three hours on Friday.
    
The girl, hailing from nearby village, had been admitted to the nursing home yesterday morning and had been recovering, her family sources said. However, she died within minutes after being administered an injection today at 9 am by the nursing home paediatrician, the FIR lodged by the family said.
     
The nursing home had allegedly offered the family Rs 20,000 as compensation which was rejected by it. The family also said the death certificate issued by the nursing home had put the time at 10 am, the FIR said.

The blockade led to the stranding of a large number of vehicles on the highway. Police interefernce cleared it after 3 hours.
