Rickshaw driver found dead at I-T crossroads

An autorickshaw driver was found dead inside his auto parked near Income Tax cross roads at Gandhi bridge on Monday morning.

The driver was identified as Biratanti Giri, 37, a resident of Harushchandranagar in Vastral.

As a daily routine, Prabhudas Prajapati, Assistant Sub Inspector with traffic branch, took over his duty at Income tax cross roads on Monday morning. Prajapati found an auto parked near a road outside LIC building. When he went closer to know the reason for such abrupt parking on a busy road, he found thy driver sleeping on the back seat. Prajapati tried to wake him up, but when he did not get any response the cop realised that something was wrong.

He then called 108 emergency services. After inspection, on-duty doctors pronounced him dead.

Navrangpura police sent his body to VS Hospital for post mortem to know the exact cause of death.
