Two comprehensive resolutions on politically sensitive issues of price rise and internal security will be passed in the forthcoming BJP national council at Indore, which will also ratify the election of Nitin Gadkari as the party's national president.

"The BJP national council will pass two resolutions relating to price rise, and internal and national security. The meet will also discuss political, social and economic issues facing the country and the anti-people policies of the government," party vice-president Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi said.

He said a special mention is likely to be made about the Rangnath Commission report which recommended 10% quota for Muslims in government jobs and the crucial issue of climate change in the wake of the recent Copenhagen Summit.

At the three-day event, the issue of amending the party constitution to increase the term of party president from the present three to five years is also likely to figure.

Naqvi said a decision on future agitational programmes against the government will also be taken in the conclave to be attended by around 5,000 delegates and leaders.

"Issues related to organisation and reporting on state elections which have taken place and polls in the near future will also be taken up," he added. According to Naqvi, the issues of price rise and internal security assume importance "as the Central government has failed to check the prices of essential commodities because it has become arrogant and its policies have become anti-people".

The BJP leader also accused the government of "surrendering" on the issue of internal security. "Therefore, the issue of internal security and national security scenario assume importance," he said.

The national executive and national council meetings will conclude with the 'Sangharsh ka Shankhnad' (war cry) rally on
February 19.

The participants will include 218 members of the national executive, 543 of the national council, 159 MPs, 904 MLAs and
also 250 candidates who contested last year's Lok Sabha elections.

Six chief ministers of BJP-ruled states and three deputy chief ministers of NDA-ruled states would also attend.
