Rape victim recovering

A week after the gangrape incident, family members of the victim are a bit relieved as the girl seems to be recovering from the trauma.

“She is recovering from the shock and agony of the heinous incident. She was extremely shocked and traumatized, and the first three-four days were very difficult for her and for us, but she is getting better. In fact, she has even started reading for a couple of days, and we are praying that she gets back to her normal self soon,” a close relative of the victim girl, said.

The victim, who is only 17, and her family showed immense courage after the shameful incident. Instead of keeping quiet and suffering in agony, they decided to approach the police in a bid to bring the rapists to book. The police also acted swiftly, and caught the three rapists within a few hours.
