Rannotsav-Kutch festival, which is held in the first week of December every year, will be organised from December 19 to 21 this year. The dates have been changed on the suggestion of Kutch collector, who feels that new dates will suit tourists, who love to enjoy the moon-lit glittering surface of the white Rann. The dates have been advanced to coincide with the full-moon night.

According to the officer, the traditional festival to mark the birth anniversary of Lord Duttatray, held atop of the black hills, will also be held during these days. Sources said that, the border district was also to hold tourism seminar as part of the fifth Vibrant Gujarat Global Investors Summit, during the festival, but now it will be held on the Mahatma Mandir premises in Gandhinagar.

The Rannotsav would be organised at Dhordo, a village on the edge of the Great Rann of Kutch. Sources said the venue was now permanent with infrastructure facilities like concrete roads, water pipelines and cemented raised land.
