The Lok Janshakti Party today alleged that its supremo Ramvilas Paswan was not allowed to unveil the statue of Lakhan Singh, a prominent Pasi community leader, here, a charge denied by the district administration.

Additional district magistrate Pramod Shanker Shukla dismissed the allegation saying that the party had not obtained the necessary permission for the programme.

Later, a miffed Paswan told reporters, "I will come again on August 23 and will unveil the statue even if I am arrested."

Slamming Uttar Pradesh chief minister Mayawati, he said that her government's denial of permission to install the statue of a great leader of the Pasi community had exposed her love for dalits.
