A high-powered committee set up by vice-president and Rajya Sabha chairman Hamid Ansari has said the upper house can go completely paperless if efforts are made in right earnest.

A high-powered committee set up by vice-president and Rajya Sabha chairman Hamid Ansari has said the upper house can go completely paperless if efforts are made in right earnest.

The committee comprising Rajya Sabha secretary-general NC Joshi and senior secretaries of various ministries and departments have recommended incentives in form of financial entitlement for MPs who opt for digital supply of documents.

It has also been decided that Rajya Sabha will give journalists digital copies of all documents and MPs will be persuaded to learn usage of computer faster.
