Vasundhara Raje, who defied the BJP leadership on the directive to quit as leader of Opposition in the Rajasthan Assembly, is likely to meet LK Advani and party chief Rajnath Singh in Delhi on Saturday that may see the end of the crisis in the state unit.

The former chief minister is expected to meet them on August 22 when the way out for the crisis is likely to be charted, a source said.

Raje was asked to resign from the post of leader of Opposition in the state assembly after the party's dismal performance in the Lok Sabha and assembly polls. After her defiance last week, the BJP Parliamentary Board had on Sunday endorsed the decision against her but kept no deadline for it.

A source said that Raje might tender her resignation after meeting both the senior leaders, thus bringing to an end to the week-long political drama.

Raje, who had initially defied the BJP high command diktat to quit from her post, decided to abide by the party's decision later.

After a meeting of the BJP Parliamentary Board in Delhi on Sunday, Singh had said her statement that she will abide by the party's decision is a "positive message".

"BJP Parliamentary Board is confident that the message conveyed by me to her (to step down) will be followed by her," Singh had said.

Two days later, the party suspended two MLAs close to her on the charge of anti-party activities in an apparent message to Raje to fall in line and quit.

But, the action seemed to have further stoked the flames of dissent in the state unit of BJP, with its 54 MLAs expressing solidarity with her and demanding that the two suspensions be revoked.
