Even the temperamental rain that kept falling on their heads failed to dampen the spirits of Anna Hazare's crusaders in the city from taking to the road and shouting the slogan, "Annaji aage badho, hum tumhare saath hain."

The highlight of the protests in the city on Saturday was brashtachaar handi, which students of Lotus School at Isanpur broke, participated by pre-schoolers to those in high school.

"Around 2,200 students remained present on the occasion along with almost 1,000 residents of the area. A kid dressed up as Lord Krishna broke the brashtachaar handi donning an Anna mask. The idea was to send a message across that Anna as Lord Krishna has come to fight for his people without any wrong intentions," explained Ramnik Bhadreshia.

Nearly 100 vans of the Ahmedabad School Van Driver's Association took to roads along with some school kids in support of Anna. The association's president, Dharmendra Brahmbhatt informed, "Our rally commenced from Sardar Patel Stadium and came to an end at Parimal Garden. We did this to support Annaji's fast to fight corruption. If required and called for, van drivers from across Gujarat are also ready to call for a strike to fight against corruption."

During Anna's visit to Ahmedabad, he had met the residents of the riverfront. "During his visit to the riverfront, Annaji had spoken about corruption and how it was taking a toll on the lives of our future generation. Hence, to support Annaji's nationwide fight against corruption, we carried out a candle light march", a riverfront dweller, Zahid Sheikh said.

Besides the regular volunteers, activists, and supporters of Anna, Saturday also witnessed another round of rally on bikes and trucks by the Mineral Water Association. Bikers rallied to Income-Tax (I-T) circle and then stationed there for some time to raise their voices against corruption. Youngsters were seen dancing to desh bhakti songs while they got drenched in the rain.
UVA Azadi - a youth group against corruption is also carrying out a samay daan abhiyaan to guide residents and activists around the city to co-ordinate the various events in support of Anna. A register is also being maintained to ensure a greater number of professionals come forward and devote at least four hours of their time to the fight against corruption.
