RJD today used the term "saffron terror" against Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar asking him to prove his secular credentials by speaking out against it, as the names of some RSS leaders had figured in the Ajmer blast charge sheet.

"The chief minister, who has been nursing a secular credential for himself, must explain his stand on the reports of the Sangh Parivar unleashing saffron terror in the country after names of RSS leaders like Indresh Kumar and Ram Madhav surfaced in the Ajmer blast chargesheet," RJD general secretary Shakeel Ahmed Khan told reporters in Patna.

Some RSS leaders were found to be involved in terrorist activities which was being given a different colour while Gujarat chief minister Narendra Modi also faced the prospect of examination by the SIT investigating 2002 riots, he said.

"If you (Kumar) fail to muster the courage to condemn 'saffron terror', you must renounce your secular credentials forever and stop bragging about dissociation with top BJP leaders during campaigning for the ongoing assembly polls," the RJD leader said.

Khan also referred to JD(U) leader Sharad Yadav's reported slip of tongue describing the chief minister as a "faltu" (useless) leader, saying a "correct assessment" of Kumar had been made.

"The chief minister will indeed become a 'faltu' leader once the poll verdict is out on November 24," he claimed.

The RJD leader also slammed the Congress for contesting all 243 assembly seats in Bihar and alleged that it had played into the hands of NDA by eating into the secular votes.

"The Congress is contesting the polls not to win, but to pave the way for the NDA's re-election," he said.

Khan claimed that despite various surveys, the RJD-LJP alliance would sweep the polls in the state.
