Promises galore at Hooda's first meeting in constituency

Making a slew of promises to people in his constituency, Haryana chief minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda today said he would take up the proposed Panipat-Bapoli-Meerut railway line project with the Centre and upgrade the local government hospital into a 100-bed medical facility.
     
"I have served the people of the state with utmost honesty and promise that I would serve the people with doubled vigour and energy as compared to the last five years", Hooda said addressing his first constituency meeting since he took over the reins of power for a second time in a row.
     
Panipat-Bapoli-Meerut rail project has been a popular demand of the people of the region.
     
The CM also announced a college and a community health centre for Bapoli and assured that the Dehra-Kakrauli road would be constructed besides one stadium each at Chulkana and Naraina villages.
     
"The Congress party has always worked for the welfare of people belonging to all sections of society and large number of schemes and programmes were launched in the first term", said Hooda.
     
He said four new power plants were being set up in the state and assured that once they became operational, every house in the state would get electricity for at least 20 to 22 hours daily.
     
Later, talking to the media at the residence of Haryana Pradesh Congress Committee President Phool Chand Mullana in Ambala City, he said Rs2,500 crore would be spent in the next five years for infrastructural development of cities under the
Rajiv Gandhi Urban Development Mission which has been implemented.
     
Priority has been given to the development of Ambala where the process to set up an Industrial Model Township has already begun, he said.
     
The chief minister also said the state Cabinet would soon be expanded.
