'Project Arrow' launched in Chandigarh's GPO

In its effort to provide quality service to postal customers and congenial atmosphere to its employees, the Postal Department has completely revamped the city's General Post Office (GPO) with the launch of 'Project Arrow'.

Chandigarh GPO is one of the 25 post offices which have been brought under the phase III of the 'Project Arrow' of India post in the Punjab circle.
   
Prithvi Raj Kumar, chief postmaster general Punjab circle said that the main purpose of 'Project Arrow' was to totally transform the existing infrastructure of post offices across
the country. He further informed that special training, particularly in soft skills, has been imparted to the employees working in such post offices.
  
These post offices, he added, have been equipped with multi-purpose counters to cope with the customer rush. The scope of the project was to improve four core areas of postal service including Mail Delivery, Saving Bank, Remittances and Officer Service Levels.

The chief post master also highlighted the new services being provided by India post such as sale of UPSC forms, sale of gold coins, railway reservation, collection of consumer price index data and various other insurance and financial services to respond to the requirements of its customers.
