Priest murdered in Vrindavan; involvement of disciples suspected

A 55-year-old priest was killed allegedly by two of his disciples in the pilgrim town of Vrindavan in the district, police said today.

Satish Kumar Goswami, a priest at the famous Banke Bihari temple in Vrindavan, was killed last night at the residence of one of his friends on Revti Raman Singh road, they said.

Two persons, both disciples of the priest, have been named in the complaint lodged by Ashok Kumar Goswami, younger brother of deceased, police said.

Last night two youths from Punhana village of Mewat district visited the priest at his friend's home and they slept in the same room with Goswami, police said.

This morning body of Goswami was found by a domestic help, while the duo were not present at home, police said.

Finger prints and other evidences, including some suspicious traces of semen from the priest body, have been collected from the spot and a probe is on, Jagdeesh Singh, station house officer of the area said.
