Pratibha Patil condoles West Bengal capsize deaths

President Pratibha Patil tonight condoled the deaths in the trawler capsize near the Sundarbans in West Bengal.

The president has conveyed her sympathy to the families of the victims of the Saturday's tragedy, a Rashtrapati Bhavan spokesperson said.

Patil has written a letter in this regard to governor MK Narayanan, the spokesperson added.

A total 21 bodies were retrieved from Hooghly river today, increasing the toll in the disaster to 62.

Search is on for 50 others who are reported to be missing.
