Powdery chemical thrown on conductor

A conductor of a private bus suffered burns on his face and eyes when two motorcycle borne persons allegedly threw some powdery substance on his face here today, police said.
    
According to police, the conductor, standing on the footboard was ready to whistle off the bus at Gandhipuram bus stand, when two persons approached and requested for change in exchange of some currency note. As he got down, one of them threw the powder on his face, police said.

The conductor was immediately rushed to the Government hospital. Another passenger, who was standing nearby, also sustained minor burns, they said.
