A postman was reportedly found dumping posts in a garbage instead of delivering them to people. He was caught red-handed after local residents found him dumping posts in their locality.

Last Saturday, residents of Prabhanagar society in Naroda saw a bag dumped at an abandoned house. When they checked it, residents found 646 posts comprising several interview calls, cheques and many other correspondences in the bag.

The angry residents, who were not receiving any mails for the last three months, nabbed the postman identified as Jasu Parmar. They then approached Naresh Nandolia, chairman of Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation's (AMC) legal cell in their locality.

Nandolia along with the residents thronged the post office located at Saijpurabogha in Naroda. Parmar, meanwhile, fled from the scene while residents were arguing with the authorities.
Residents said that a senior officer Vishal Purohit and his staff recovered the posts and did panchnama as well. Purohit said that the matter will be reported to senior officers in the department so that action can be taken against the postman.

On the other hand, Nandolia said that for the last three months, residents were not been receiving any mails in the locality. People's alertness helped them trace why they weren't receiving any mails for the last three months.

Reacting to this, post officials have cancelled the leave of 20 postmen and they were asked to deliver mails on Sunday also.
