Police yet to get 3rd rapist’s semen sample

The city police are having a tough time getting the semen sample of Abu Bacher Shaikh, one of the three rapists.

The semen samples of the two other rape accused, Shahid Saiyed and Tariq Saiyed, were collected on Saturday. Shaikh was also taken to hospital along with his partners in crime on Saturday, but he was unable to give a sample.

Officials said that Shaikh was taken to the hospital on Monday too for a semen sample, but he was unsuccessful. Another visit to the hospital on Tuesday also proved to be futile.

The officials attributed his failure to ejaculate and give semen samples in spite of repeated attempts.

According to officials, semen samples will be strong evidence against the trio for proving their crime. The samples will be matched with those found in the victim’s body during her medical check-up.
The police also have other important evidence such as the car, the mobile phone used to shoot the gangrape and the FSL samples collected from the car. Most importantly, the victim also identified the rapists during an identification parade.

“We have enough evidence to nail the criminals,” DCP (Crime)
