Police set to fortify Swarnim Gujarat fest

Swarnim Gujarat will need over 2,500 police personnel to fortify the celebration to be held at Sardar Patel Stadium, Navrangpura on April 30 and May 1.

The city police are ensuring that the mega event, which will celebrate the foundation of Gujarat state 50 years ago, will be a peaceful one.

Thus, they have made a precise map of the security provisions needed for Swarnim Gujarat at the stadium. It will be finalised by April 29.

According to sources, the high level meetings among the senior officials and the local police are in the process and the exact plan of the entire security of the stadium will be made soon.

Police inspector, Naranpura police station, RT Gohil told DNA that a request of requirement for 2,500 police officials had been sent to the government and that the police force would be sent soon.
According to sources, as many as three police inspectors, six sub inspectors, 150 police constables and head constables and three companies of State Reserved Police (SRP), will be required to fortify the event.

Sources near the development told DNA that the entire show will be guarded by CCTV cameras in almost each and every segment of the stadium, including the parking and the main gates of the venue.
