Police seize cattle, arrest three people in Ahmedabad

In a shocking incident, the Naroda police on Sunday morning seized two truckloads of cattle near Ransan toll plaza on the outskirts of the city and arrested three persons. The cattle were being transported for slaughter.

According to sources, the police stopped the trucks on the basis of a tip-off given by one Babu Desai. The police were surprised to find that those in the trucks were transporting 108 cattle, 16 of which were already dead, for slaughter. 

The police arrested Kamruddin Khan, Ayub Qayamuddin and Raes Khan Sekhroji who were transporting the cattle. Sources said that the three were on their way to Bharuch from Rajasthan.

Naroda Inspector BM Vasava said, "The accused have been arrested and booked for transporting cattle for the purpose of slaughter."  The police have been successful in nabbing many people who transport cattle for slaughter in the city recently.
