PM trying to shield someone more powerful than A Raja: Jayalalithaa

AIADMK leader Jayalalithaa today alleged that prime minister Manmohan Singh is trying to shield someone more powerful than Union IT Minister A Raja in the alleged 2G spectrum allocation scam.

"As far as the the prime minister is concerned, Raja is a very small person. It is quite evident he has not taken any action against him because it is not just Raja but someone far more powerful (than him) is involved," she told reporters here.

"PM is obviously trying to shield that powerful person," she charged.

Jayalalithaa claimed that evidence of the scam has been published in newspapers 'which is there for all to see.' Since CBI is already probing the matter, it must have obtained the evidence, she said.

"The entire country has come to know that corruption of unprecedented level has taken place. It is upto the prime minister to assert his authority and take action against whoever is guilty," she said.
