Arunachal Pradesh chief minister Dorjee Khandu today said the administration would expedite the completion of projects declared by prime minister Manmohan Singh in the state.

"The projects under the PM's package, including the ambitious trans-Arunachal highway linking 11 district headquarters in the state, would be completed in time," he said after taking oath of office and secrecy.

He also emphasised on strengthening the public distribution system in the state.

"More FCI godowns in the hilly state with poor road connectivity would be set up," he said adding that the progress of different mega hydropower projects awarded to private and central power developers would also be monitored for speedy completion.

Khandu declined to comment on reported differences with his predecessor Gegong Apang over the policy on allotment of mega hydropower projects with a potential to generate 65,000mw.

He said the state can earn huge royalties from the power projects which will enable Arunachal Pradesh to become a front-ranking state in the next decade.
