PDPU Ahmedabad graduate gets Rs12 lakh offer

Energy and IT companies & consulting firms participated in placement this year.

A student of the School of Petroleum Management, Pandit Deendayal Petroleum University (PDPU) has been offered the highest package of Rs12 lakh at the latest placements in the varsity.

Dr Akash Patel, chairperson, corporate relations & placements at the School of Petroleum Management, said besides energy sector companies, companies like IT and consulting firms, financial institutions also visited SPM for their energy verticals.

The first phase of the rolling campus placement process for the fifth batch of MBA (Energy and Infrastructure) of School of Petroleum Management took place in the week concluded on December 9.

Ernst & Young, Indian Oil, Bharat Petroleum, Larsen & Toubro, Accenture, Infraline Energy Research, Sabarmati Gas, Mahanagar Gas, Gujarat State Petroleum Corporation, Jubilant Energy, Yes Bank, IL&FS, AF-Mercados EMI, and Infosys, were among the notable companies that participated in the campus placements.
Patel said compared with last year, there has been a significant hike in highest and average package offered to SPM students. For the outgoing batch, the highest offer so far was Rs12lakh and the average package offered was Rs7.38 lakh.

The major recruiters have been oil marketing companies, IT companies, consulting firms, engineering companies, city gas distribution companies, upstream companies, banks and financial institutions.

Patel said more than 3/4th of the batch has already been placed in the first phase of the placement process, and more companies have confirmed their participation in the campus recruitment process in the coming weeks.
