PDP president Mehbooba Mufti on Saturday felt unwell while addressing a party meeting here and left the dias, cutting short her speech and offering an apology. Addressing party workers at the PDP's provincial office here this afternoon, Mufti said that she was not feeling well and apologised to the audience for not being able to continue her speech. She was provided a glass of water and then taken inside the party office to take rest.

Earlier, she said that the party legislators and workers will vigorously pursue the party's agenda of peace and revocation of the Armed Forces Special Powers Act (AFSPA). Our party has been demanding withdrawal of troops from civilian areas and their return to the barrakcs as the situation has imporoved and the level of militancy has
considerably reduced in the state.

"When we raise these issues, our opponents call us anti-nationals but no one makes a comment when the same issues are raised by National Conference leader Farooq Abdullah", she said. Brushing aside criticism drawn by her party for raising the dual currency issue, she said there will shortly be dual currency in the state to facilitate trade between the two sides across the Line of Control (LoC).
