Former Madhepura MP Rajesh Ranjan alias Pappu Yadav has sent a legal notice to Bihar Congress chief Anil Sharma demanding an apology for allegedly attempting to damage his reputation failing which he threatened to file a defamation suit amounting to a minimum of Rs10 crore within one month from receipt of the notice.

The notice against Sharma followed Congress state vice-president Sameer Singh's fax to the Home Secretary, DGP, Zonal IG, Patna SSP, and other police officials last saturday apprehending violent opposition to Sharma by Yadav and his supporters on the former's arrival in Patna on sunday.

Singh had sought police protection for Sharma.

Yadav, in his legal notice to Sharma through his lawyer Rakesh Kumar Singh, charged Sharma with 'attempting to harm and damage his reputation'

"I have not  issued any threat to Sharma from anywhere or any point of time", he said.

Yadav had also sought a written apology from Sharma for his incorrect, malicious and false statement.

When contacted, Sharma said he had not received any notice issued yesterday by Yadav 'till date.'

"I am ready to give a suitable reply to it once I receive it", he added.
