Over 100 litres of illicit liquor seized in Delhi

Over 100 litres of illicit liquor was recovered from north-west Delhi in two separate cases and two youths were arrested in this connection, police said today.
 
The arrested were identified as Ram Vilas, 24, a resident of Shalimar Bagh, and Vinod Kumar, 31, who stays in Rani Bagh.
 
Police recovered 103.680 litre of illicit liquor from the two persons, deputy commissioner of police (North-West) NS Bundela said.
 
In the first case, Ram Vilas was arrested on August 13 from Shalimar Bagh following a tip-off. Pappu, the driver of the autorickshaw in which he was travelling fled from the scene.
 
Ram Vilas told police that he was a rickshaw puller and was accompanying the auto driver as a labourer to unload the cartons. He also claimed that he had accompanied Pappu 2-3 times to deliver illicit liquor.
 
Kumar was apprehended yesterday from near Haiderpur Chowk when he was coming in a car allegedly with illicit liquor.
 
He told police that he was carrying the lot of illicit liquor from Bahadurgarh in Haryana and the consignment was for sale in slum clusters Pitampura and Wazirpur.
