One shot dead, another hurt in firing by miscreants in Punjab

One person was gunned down and another injured when miscreants opened fire at them near the court complex here today, police said.
    
Hargobind Singh was shot dead by the assailants who came in a car and opened fire from a close range, police said.

The injured has been hospitalised.

A dispute over the management committee elections of Lala Lajpat Rai Memorial DAV college here is stated to be the cause behind the attack, they said.

Police said the assailants have been identified and a hunt was on to nab them.
