One seriously injured in brawl with Russian businessman in Goa

A 43-year-old man was seriously injured after he was allegedly attacked by a Russian businessman at Morjim village in Goa, police said.

A 43-year-old man was seriously injured after he was allegedly attacked by a Russian businessman at Morjim village in Goa, police said.

The incident took place last night when Constatine Alexander Borowsli (27) who operates a bar and restaurant in Morjim attacked a local--Ravi Shetgaonkar, they said.

The trouble began when Borowsli picked up a quarrel with the local group including Shetgaonkar after they objected to his car lights beaming on them.

The verbal duel turned into a brawl following which the Russian, who is down in the state on business visa assaulted Shetgaonkar, police said.

The irate group in turn attacked the Russian, who suffered minor injuries in the scuffle, they said.
   
However, Shetgaonkar has been admitted to Goa Medical College in serious condition, police said.
   
Deputy superintendent of police Sammy Tavares said that cross complaints have been filed by the Russian and local group at Pernem police station.

Police have filed complaint of assault and unlawful assembly against both the parties.
