One killed in clash over Re1 coin

A 50-year-old man who came to rescue his brother in an ongoing clash got killed in the tragic incident, that too for a one rupee coin! The tragic episode took place in Ghuma, Bopal police station area on Friday morning. The police have arrested the accused. Bopal police officials said at 8:30 am a security guard identified as Mukesh, working at Vasant Bahar complex, had gone to a cycle repair shop at Pavan Complex in Ghuma.

According to the police, Mukesh started to leave the shop without paying the owner Ganpat Thakore the one rupee for the pumping of his cycle. This led a verbal duel between the two. "The shopkeeper asked for money as he had just opened his shop. But Mukesh didn't pay and tried to flee the place. However, the shopkeeper's elder brother Karsanbhai Thakore, who was reading newspaper, got up and chased Mukesh," police said.

At some distance from the shop, Mukesh and Thakore started fighting and Mukesh grabbed a stone and hit him. Thakore was rushed to the hospital where he was declared dead. The police have booked Mukesh for murder.
