One held for shoplifting in Vejalpur mall in Ahmedabad

A group of people, who seemed to belong to affluent families and had come to a mall in Vejalpur, were caught for shoplifting expensive cosmetic items and groceries from the mall.

The Vejalpur police arrested one Amar Chauhan (18), who hails from Delhi for allegedly picking up costly cosmetic items from the shop, while five of his aides -four women and a boy - are absconding. 

The Vejalpur police handed Chauhan to Satellite police as the group had stolen the cosmetic from a mall in Satellite.

In fact, it was the manager of this mall who alerted his colleague at the branch of the same company to look for a group of people involved in shop lifting.

The managerial staff of the mart in Vejalpur then was on the lookout for the suspects. "The suspect was nabbed by the staff and costly cosmetics as well as groceries were found from his possession.

He had hidden them under his clothes," a police source in Vejalpur told DNA. The source also said that the suspect's subordinate, meanwhile managed to flee.

"The security staff of the mall tried to get hold of them but they escaped," a police source said.
