Ohio teachers amazed at Ahmedabad school kids’ business sense

Six American educationists are on a visit to Ahemdabad to study the entrepreneurship model of a city-based school.

    Six American educationists are on a visit to Ahemdabad to study the entrepreneurship model of a city-based school.

    These educationists from the International Partners in Mission (IPM), Ohio state, USA visited the Satyameva Jayate International School (SJIS), in the city to in a bid to comprehend how the school imparts the basics and fundamentals of entrepreneurship and business to school kids.

    Teachers - Jane, Karen, Frank, Amanda, Julie and Barbara - learnt how the school has its own bank, system of loan and also conducts mini market fairs. The educationists who were amazed at the entrepreneurial knowledge of the students said: "It is amazing how the children at such a young age talk about business and get engaged into entrepreneurial activities," said Karen Hanson, an educationist in USA.

    "SJIS is the only school in the city which teaches entrepreneurship to children from class 1 onwards," said Hina Shah, Director of the school. A teacher and member of IPM, Jane said,  On the difference in the education system of both the countries, Frank said, "Indian school kids have a lot of respect for teachers, family and for society.”
