Normalcy today returned to Sopore after three days of strike and clashes between locals and police following the death of a youth in exchange of fire between militants and police recently.

Shops and business markets opened and transport services remained smooth in Sopore, 55 kms from here, officials said.

These establishments were closed for three days beginning Wednesday after militants targeted a police party at a local
bus stand on Tuesday in which a policeman and a civilian,

Locals alleged that Ahmad was killed by police after they were attacked by militants.

Police, however, said the youth was killed in an exchange of fire between them and militants.
