The Andhra Pradesh government is stable and there is no cause for concern on account of the ongoing agitation over Telangana, senior Congress leader and Union Health Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad said today.

"The government is stable. The chief minister is doing a good job. The government is doing a good job. There is no cause for concern," he told reporters after inaugurating the Zonal Office of the Central Drugs Standard Control Organisation (CDSCO) here.

He was responding to a query on the situation in the Congress-ruled state over the ongoing pro-Telangana agitation and the challenge from former MP Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy, who has the support of over 20 party MLAs.

Several Telangana MPs and MLAs had earlier indicated their readiness to resign for the sake of separate Telangana demand, while Jagan had asserted that he was doing a favour to the Congress by asking legislators loyal to him not to quit their posts for now.
