The Congress today said it had no "secret pact" with the BSP which had supported the UPA government on the cut motion and will continue to oppose the "anti-people" policies of Mayawati government in Uttar Pradesh.

"We have not signed any deal with BSP that you support us in Lok Sabha and we would not agitate against them. Congress will continue its fight for the people and will keep organising rallies and will keep exposing state government's anti people policies," AICC general secretary Digvijay Singh told PTI here today.

Singh said the party was thankful to Mayawati for not being influenced by opposition on the cut motion.

Since price rise is not a political issue, all the parties must work together to solve it, he said.

Congress would continue condemning UP government for raising statues from the funds meant for public welfare in the state.

"The people are unable to benefit from Central welfare schemes since they are not being implemented effectively in state. The law and order condition is not upto the mark. The people are worried but government is least bothered," he said.

Singh also dismissed reports that the BSP had supported the government to thwart CBI probe into cases where its members were allegedly involved.
