No place to dance this Navratri

The Ahmedabad police usually receive 50-55 applications from the city and another 10-12  from areas that come under the jurisdiction of Ahmedabad rural police. However, the police have got only 34 applications from the city and seven from Ahmedabad rural so far.

Sources said lack of sponsors was the main reason for the decline in the number of garba organisers.

“Some organisers are afraid that they may not be able to recover the organising cost and hence are wary of taking the risk,” they said.
