No change in condition of Taiwanese national injured in Jama Masjid firing

The condition of Taiwanese national Chiang, who is undergoing treatment at the LNJP Hospital here after being injured in the firing incident near Jama Masjid here, showed no sign of improvement today.

Doctors at the hospital said he is in the ICU and under constant surveillance.

Dr Amit Banerjee, medical superintendent of LNJP Hospital, said, "He is in the ICU and will be under surveillance till his condition is stable. He has suffered a multiple organ injury in the abdomen and in the bowels too. He is under intensive observation and medical care."

Chiang along with another Taiwanese Zeseweiu was injured in the firing incident near Jama Masjid on Sunday. 

Zeseweiu, who had a miraculous escape as the bullet only grazed his head, was discharged last evening. 

The government has instructed hospital authorities to provide all facilities to the injured foreign nationals.

Taiwanese food and English language interpreters have been made available to the injured Taiwanese nationals, Banerjee said.
