Police commissioner Sudhir Sinha has made it compulsory for commercial garba organisers to install CCTV cameras at the venues, else they will not be given permission to hold garba nights. Further, organisers have to close garba and switch off the loudspeakers at 12 midnight, says Sinha in a notification.

As part of security preparation for the nine-day-long Navratri festival, the city police chief has issued the notification, giving clear instructions to the garba organisers to install CCTV camera at entry gates, parking lots, and the stage.

The notification says that the organisers will have to deploy private security guards at the venue with metal detectors. Sinha has made it clear that if the organisers didn't follow the notification, permission would not be granted to them.

It says that the organisers will have to switch off the loudspeakers and close the whole event at 12 midnight.  The notification also states that there has to be two separate gates for entry and exit.
