NLC to contribute Rs2 crore to CM's Thane cyclone relief fund

Workers of Neyveli Lignite Corporation would donate one day's salary, amounting to Rs2 crore, towards the Chief Minister’s Thane Cyclone Relief fund, a top NLC official said here today

NLC chairman/managing director AR Ansari said the amount collected from 17801 workers and 4240 engineers would soon be handed over to Chief Minister Jayalalithaa.

He said NLC is feeding over 1200mw of power per hour uninterruptedly to the Tamil Nadu grid.

Meanwhile V Thiyagarajan Joint Secretary NLC Engineers federation said the Rs2 crore contribution was very meagre and that the Board of Directors should convene a meeting and pass a resolution to contribute at least Rs100 crore towards relief work.
